NEW DELHI: The YouTube channel of Sansad TV which is an Indian government-based television channel has been terminated on February 15.
The termination comes in view of the channel's violation of YouTube community guidelines as per the message flashed on accessing the channel.
The Sansad TV YouTube channel shows the recorded programs of parliament and broadcast live proceedings of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
On Tuesday morning the subscribers of the channel woke up with the channel displaying as not available with no video found in the account.
Many users on Twitter started sharing the news by posting pictures of the screenshot which shows the message being flashed while trying to open the Sansad TV YouTube channel.
As per certain reports, it is said that the Sansad TV YouTube channel has been hacked and a new name was given as Ethereum which is a cryptocurrency.
However, the actual reason behind the termination of the channel is not yet clear. It is not yet informed about which guidelines have been violated by the Sansad TV YouTube channel.
On Tuesday late morning the Sansad YouTube channel displayed a 404 error with a message that reads 'the page is not available, sorry about that, Try searching for something else.'
Meanwhile, a mail has been sent in this regard to Google that runs YouTube but no response has been received so far.
YouTube's Community Guidelines state that the main objective of the YouTube policies is a safer community even by giving freedom to the creators to share a wide range of prospective and experiences.
The platform further adds about the enforcement of these community guidelines using a mixture of machine learning and human reviewers. It is applied to everyone equally irrespective of the topic, creator's background, position and political viewpoint.
Some of the reasons for which YouTube usually terminates an account include sensitive content, child safety, vulgar language, self-injury, impersonation, suicide, fake engagement, nudity and others.
